After receiving a degree from Vanderbilt University, Robert Davie spent seven years in the computer remarketing industry working with companies such as Mountain Capital and Sun Data, successfully marketing high-end used computer systems to corporate information technology groups including Ralston-Purina and Pepsi Cola. In 1993, Davie then joined the marketing division of IBM where he was responsible for generating 34% of sales through IBM's internet channel for the Power PC product line. Recognizing the need for a centralized marketplace for the purchase and disposition of high-end refurbished computer equipment, Davie established Affiliated ReMarketing Web, Inc. (now ITParade.com, Inc.) in January 1996. Serving as the principal driver of the company, Davie has initiated joint venture agreements with companies such as Yahoo!, GoTo Auctions, AS400 Network, and Internet.com to name a few.
